The Summer Term in a UK boarding school is an exciting term

The Summer Term in a UK boarding school is an exciting term; boarding students enjoy the warmer weather and light evenings to make full use of the excellent facilities and schools are buzzing with activities.

The sports calendars are full of cricket, tennis, athletics and rounders matches against other schools as well as swimming galas and fun events that quickly become school traditions.  Whether it is the annual fun run or building a raft to cross the river, all students are encouraged to get involved which builds a great team spirit and friendships.  The end of year drama performance is a highlight and gives students the opportunity to show off their acting and musical talents.  For some students the end of term is tinged with sadness and apprehension as they move on to the next stage of their education and after the ‘Leaver’s Ball’ and other end of year celebrations they have to leave the familiar school, friends and teachers behind.
