Wells Cathedral School is a family-orientated co-educational boarding and day school from 2-18 years olds which provides an all-round education alongside world-class Specialist Music and Chorister training. Founded in AD 909 Wells is among one of the oldest schools in Europe. Located in the heart of the medieval City of Wells in the beautiful surroundings of Somerset, the School is within easy access to Bristol Airport and Bath.


The School has a proven record in academic excellence and offers 40+ co-curricular activities, specialist mathematics, and a strong creative arts programme. The School won the Independent School of the Year Award for Performing Arts in 2022 and also an Inventive Sports Programme Award in 2023. Sport is an integral part of the School’s overall education with numerous pupils gaining representation at county and national level. Outdoor education activities include CCF (Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and Royal Marines Band), DofE, orienteering, rock climbing, archery, hill walking, caving and an annual expedition.
