The Pilgrims’ School

Boys boarding and day in Winchester, Hampshire

The Pilgrims’ School is a forward-thinking school in a historic town-and-country setting for boys aged 4 to 13. Our academic and musical offering is second to none, and our sports facilities are unrivalled at prep school level. We aim to nurture happy, well-rounded boys who take joy in their learning and make the most of the opportunities we offer. Most boys learn two instruments, we’re unique in being a double choir school, with two professional choirs in two separate choral foundations, and four additional school choirs. Our teachers are subject specialists and we have dedicated pastoral care staff looking after boys’ wellbeing. A significant number secure awards in academics, music, sport, academic and DT at prestigious senior schools such as Winchester College, Eton, and Tonbridge. We have a developing super-curriculum facilitated by our work with Winchester College including enrichment sessions in the Treasury Museum, the observatory, and the QEII Theatre, all just over the road.

With two vibrant boarding houses, our boarding community thrives from Year 4 onwards, and typically more than half of boys live in by Year 8. We nurture skills such as compassion, empathy, and resilience, guiding the boys managing emotions, time, and relationships, making school truly enriching. Our boys work hard and have a lot of fun, leaving with treasured friends, memories, and a better understanding of the world.
