“From the very first day students feel welcome and part of our caring community.”

Ackworth School’s purpose is to create a happy and secure environment in which all pupils realize and develop their own special abilities in constant awareness of the needs and claims of others.

Ackworth School has always been a boarding school for boys and girls. It has a beautiful, safe, rural setting and our buildings reflect both our rich heritage and our vision for the future.

The boarding houses are in the heart of the school and the boarding community enjoys modern study bedrooms, many of which have en-suite facilities. All boarding staff are experienced and caring and strike a balance between keeping the house in good order and enabling students to feel at home and to have some space of their own.

Our elite sports academies for Football and Table Tennis are a hub for emerging talent from around the world. Offering a two-year elite football development programme for boys in conjunction with A-Level and GCSE courses, the Football Academy is led by Jamie Fullarton, an ex-English Premier League footballer and coach who is one of a limited group coaches in the country to hold the UEFA Pro license.

In the Sixth Form, the Oxbridge Preparation Programme helps students secure places on the most competitive courses at university.
