The Royal School

Co-educational boarding and day (nursery - sixth form) in Haslemere, Surrey

It is hard to beat the position of our school, nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty and safe at the top of Farnham Lane, yet close enough to Haslemere train station to hop on a train to explore the busy hotspots of London or the cobbled streets, shops and cultural venues of Guildford.

We believe in the best in everyone and are dedicated to developing character in our young people. Academic excellence and a belief that outstanding pastoral care must underpin everything we do is a powerful combination in enabling that happiness and success. Our pupils are engaged in their learning, supportive of one another and open, polite and positive when you meet them.

As an organisation that embraces modern ideas but is steeped in tradition and history, we are proud and privileged to have HRH The Princess Royal as our President. The original Royal Naval School was founded in 1840 for the daughters and sisters of Naval and Marine Officers. Our founders were great innovators, at a time when it was deemed unnecessary for girls to be educated our founders did just that. That sense of innovation and forward-thinking remains today.

Our commitment is to ensure pupils are emotionally, intellectually and practically ready for their future. Our unique, pupil-centred Future Ready Programme provides opportunities beyond the traditional curriculum to develop skills that make us uniquely human.
