Giggleswick School is one of the UK’s leading co-educational boarding schools, located in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Giggleswick is a popular choice among Forces families with our strong boarding ethos offering a stable, healthy, supportive and friendly environment for children from the ages of 8 through to 18. They currently have 30 children from 21 families in school. The new Head and Deputy Head are both ex-military and have a deep understanding of the extra challenges Forces families face. 65% of our pupils are boarders (increasing to 80% in Sixth Form) and everyone attends school on Saturday with lessons in the morning and team sports and clubs in the afternoon. We also have a full programme of activities on Sunday, including regular trips and visits out of school. 

Giggleswick School is within easy reach of the major bases in the North with excellent road and rail links. We are a 3 ½ hour train journey from London and run a bus to York train station on exeats and half terms. Manchester and Leeds Bradford airports are easily accessible. 

Academic results are strong with 67% A*-B A Level and BTEC Grades in 2022, and 90% of pupils securing their first choice university. Our academic programme is complemented by over 80 clubs and activities, from sport and outdoor pursuits to music, art, drama, debating, and service in the community.

We welcome international pupils from over 17 different countries, including expatriate and Forces families. Of our total pupil body, 81% are British and 20% are internationals.

We also operate an extremely popular International Summer School programme, providing international students with an ideal opportunity to improve their English, have fun, make friends, and get a taste for British life at a top UK boarding school.

We are listed as a ‘Top 20 Independent School in the North’ by The Sunday Times.
