Canford develops confident, ambitious, and well-rounded young people equipped to thrive in the modern world.

Canford is a co-educational UK boarding and day school for pupils aged 13–18, nationally recognised for its high-quality education and regarded as one of the leading independent schools in southern England having been awarded the 2025 Independent Schools of the Year Awards Regional Independent School of the Year – South. Set on a safe and spacious 250-acre campus near Wimborne, Dorset, it provides an inspiring environment for learning.

For families navigating frequent moves, Canford provides a stable and supportive full boarding community where each pupil is known and valued as an individual. Canford places academic excellence and pupil wellbeing at its core, within a dynamic, fast-paced community. Outstanding academic outcomes are supported by a rich co-curricular programme, exceptional pastoral care, and a focus on building leadership skills. HM Forces families are attracted to the school by the full boarding model, where on average at least 80% of boarders are in school each weekend. A number of staff being ex-military is also reassurance for families.

We are pleased to confirm that from September 2026, Canford will move to a Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA) + 10% model. FCDO families will continue to benefit from an automatic 10% discount.
