Dean Close is set in 50 acres of parkland close to the centre of Cheltenham. Its Christian ethos underpins the School’s values and it is renowned for its warm, caring family atmosphere where individuality is cherished.

The School has a diverse community representing 28 different nationalities; over half the School are Boarders. Boarding is thriving with a busy weekend programme and the School enjoys an exciting Adventure offering (including an Equestrian programme), a multitude of indoor activities as well as excellence in music, drama and sport. The Sixth Form Boarding Houses are very popular and help to prepare pupils for their next steps beyond School.

The School’s campus blends modern architecture and facilities with traditional, with an impressive Chapel, 550 seat professional theatre, amphitheatre, concert hall, 2 water based Astroturf pitches, a 25m indoor heated swimming pool, climbing wall, indoor rifle range, sports centre, dance studio, fully equipped gymnasium and multiple grass pitches.

Dean Close enjoys an excellent academic profile and offers outstanding Futures advice, with 95% of pupils going to their first choice of university in the UK and internationally; with others choosing industry, the creative arts or the Armed Forces.

Dean Close is a popular school for military girls and boys aged 7 to 18. The generous military discount (irrespective of rank) enables over 150 military boarders to be central  to the strong full boarding community of 370 pupils. 90% of pupils go on to University with some choosing to go straight into the Armed Forces or the creative arts.
